Switching to MSS Compostables Tipper Carts

Impacting customers in:
Ross, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District, Larkspur, and San Rafael

To comply with California’s SB 1383 law and streamline collection, we’re upgrading customers in Ross, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District, Larkspur, and San Rafael to the same convenient green tipper carts already in use across other communities we serve. Customer-owned cans and bags of extra yard waste will no longer be serviced.

Starting March 1, 2025, all residential customers must use MSS-provided green, wheeled tipper carts for compostable materials, including food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard waste.

Need more compost space? You can upgrade to a larger 96-gallon cart or request a second compost cart (up to two total) at no extra cost—this is included with your bundled service.
