Spring Cleaning? Collect, Sort and Store

Spring Cleaning? Collect, Sort and Store

After staying at home for weeks, you may be more aware of clutter and be moved to remove! Are you looking at piles of items to donate or recycle?

Donations

Unfortunately, during the shelter-at-home order, many facilities for drop-off and donation are closed. If you have donation items, call before you go to ensure that the charity of your choice is accepting items. It may even be best to collect, sort and store to take to drop-off locations after we get the all-clear.

Tip: Save some of the cardboard boxes you have received from deliveries or online orders to store items. Make sure to label them clearly!

Extra Trash and Recycling

Household Hazardous Wastes

Items such as chemicals, batteries, electronics, and paints are hazardous wastes and require proper disposal.

The Marin Household Hazardous Waste Facilities is open for drop off of these items.

Visit the Marin Household Hazardous Waste Facilities website to see their hours of operation and for a refresher on what common materials are considered hazardous and require safe keeping and disposal.
