Every Day is Earth Day!

Here at Marin Sanitary Service, every day is Earth Day! Join us this year for Earth Day by committing to keep organic material out of the landfill and help fight climate change by composting organic materials!

By placing your food scraps, uneaten leftovers, peels and food-soiled paper (napkins) in your green cart, you can help prevent the creation of harmful greenhouse gases.

Marin Sanitary Service takes the material from your green cart to Redwood Landfill where it is turned into nutrient rich compost that builds healthy soil — helping instead of harming the planet.

COMMIT TO COMPOSTING BY REMEMBERING THESE SIMPLE TIPS

  • Collect food scraps in a bowl or food waste pail in your kitchen
  • Place compostable items in a brown paper bag before
  • putting them in your cart
  • Layer yard waste and food to keep your green cart clean
  • Prevent smells by freezing compostable material before putting it in your green cart
  • Meat, bones, shells and pizza boxes are all acceptable in your green cart
