Locating Your Cycle & Tax Body Code
Your cycle and tax body code are located on your bill. Locate the code above the “Important Information” box or on the bottom right of the remittance portion of your statement.
It is a four-letter code, example MALG and two-digit alphanumeric code, example R3. These are used to schedule your curbside clean-up.
If you have questions, contact customer service or call us at (415) 456-2601.
BULKY & LARGE ITEM COLLECTIONS
Bulky items like mattresses, appliances, and furniture will NOT be collected during curbside clean-ups. These collections must be scheduled separately.
Residential customers (who have a personal MSS account) are allocated two (2), scheduled bulky item collections of up to two (2) items each time at no extra charge. Any item over 60 pounds or six (6) feet in length will be subject to an additional fee to cover special equipment or additional helper. We will not pick up items that exceed 100 pounds or eight (8) feet with an exception for appliances.
Bulky & Large Item Collection Requests
A 24-hour notice is required for special pick-up requests.
Please note that any estimates given over the telephone are subject to change after the driver assesses the load. For safety reasons or limitations with our equipment, we may not be able to collect certain items.
Please have the following information for the item(s) you are requesting be collected so our customer service can best help you:
- Item dimensions: height, width, length
- Approximate weight
If you have already used your inclusive collections, any additional items to be collected will be charged a per item collection fee.
Use our Customer Support Form or email [email protected].
EXTRA GArbage, recycling or compostables
Extra Garbage
Please contact customer service prior to your service day if you find that your total amount of garbage exceeds the capacity of your container. “Extras” include any refuse placed outside or around the container.
Any extra bags should be no heavier than 60 pounds and no larger than 32 gallons in volume. Because our drivers must manually place these bags in the truck, they must meet the weight requirements and all bags must be sturdy enough to lift without breaking.
Extra garbage is subject to a collection fee.
Extra Recycling
Extra recycling can be placed in a separate container or paper bag/box beside your recycling cart. Please keep paper products separate from your glass plastic and aluminum containers. Extra recyclables are collected at no additional charge for residential customers.
Recycle Cardboard the Right Way
We want your cardboard! But, large pieces get stuck in the blue side of the dual sort carts and cause problems for drivers when they get jammed in the trucks.
Extra cardboard is collected at no additional charge but must be broken down (even if you have to cut them) and either stacked into 2 ft x 2 ft x 2 ft bundles tied with twine or stacked into another small box and left next to your recycling cart by the curb on your pick-up day.
If you have more cardboard than can fit in a 2ft bundle, please call our office so we can send a cardboard only truck to your home to pick it up.
Extra Compostables (Yard/Food Waste)
Please contact customer service prior to your service day if you find that your total amount of compostables (yard/food waste) exceeds the capacity of your container.
Customers may rent up to four (4) additional 64-gallon yard waste carts for a nominal monthly fee if you find you consistently have more than 64 gallons of organic waste per week. If you find that you only have extra yard waste on occasion, you may set out paper bags of accepted organic materials for an additional fee per bag (excluding customers in Fairfax & San Anselmo*). Bags should not be heavier than 60 lbs. Materials in plastics bags will be charged as landfill and the fee is double.
*Per the contract, residents in San Anselmo (Tax Body MASA) and Fairfax (Tax Body MAFF) are no longer allowed to set their own cans or bags for yard waste EXCEPT during clean-up days effective 1/2/2021.
