Curbside clean-ups are scheduled twice per year (Fall and Spring) to help with large clean-ups. These preset dates are determined by the town you live in and the Billing Cycle you are in. During the clean-up weeks, you can put out up to 14 bags of extra material at no extra cost on your normal service day. See below for what is allowed and the dates assigned to each area.
What can I put at the curb during your Curbside Clean-up?
You can put out up to 14 of extra bags or cans (2 cubic yards) of garbage, recycling, and yard/food waste. Bulky items like mattresses, appliances, and furniture will NOT be collected during curbside clean-ups.
When is my Curbside Clean-up?
You should receive an insert in your bill announcing any new Curbside Clean-ups in your area. Material will only be collected on your service day during your scheduled Clean-up week. If you can not locate your last bill, reference the chart below or contact Customer Service at 415-456-2601.
Check your last bill and locate the green box on the bottom third of your bill. Right above the green box, you will notice a four letter code like MASR and a letter and a number combination like R2. These are your cycle and tax body codes in which we use to schedule your Curbside Clean-up. Identify your combination of codes below for the schedule curbside clean-up week. Remember, material can only be collected on your normal service day.

Bulky & Large Item Collections
Through our new bulky item program, residential customers are allocated two scheduled bulky item collections of up to two items each time at no extra charge. Any item over 60 lbs or 6 ft will be subject to an additional fee to cover special equipment or additional helper. If you have already used your inclusive collections, any additional items to be collected will be charged a per item collection fee. Call our customer service department to get a quote or to schedule your collection. A 24-hour notice is required for special pick-up requests. Please note that any estimates given over the telephone are subject to change after the driver assesses the load.
Extra Bags/Cans of Material
Please contact our office at 415-456-2601 prior to your service day if you find that your total amount of garbage exceeds the capacity of your container. “Extras” include any refuse placed outside or around the container and are subject to a collection fee. Call customer to schedule your “extras” and to receive a collection quote.
Extra recycling can be placed in a separate container or paper bag/box beside your recycling cart. Please keep paper products separate from your glass plastic and aluminum containers. Extra recyclables are collected at no additional charge.
Extra cardboard is collected at no additional charge, but must be broken down and either stacked into 2x2x2 bundles tied with twine or stacked into another small box.
Extra Yard/Food Waste
Please contact our office at 415-456-2601 prior to your service day if you find that your total amount of yard/food waste exceeds the capacity of your container. All residential customers may place up to 2 additional bags or cans (limit of 32 gallons per containers) of yard/food waste out at the curb the night before collection at no charge. Bags must be paper or compostable or they will be charged the garbage rate. Additional bags or cans after the first 2 are subject to a nominal charge unless it is included in the Franchise agreement for your city or town. Customer service can let you know what is covered and how much the service will cost.
Are you going on vacation?
If you wish to put a temporary stop on your service due to vacation, please notify our office at 415-456-2601 with your stop date and approximate return date. If you are away for a minimum of two weeks or more, your account will be credited for the interruption of service. This service is available to each resident three times per year.
